Sachin Tendulkar (Mumbai 1973) the legendary top order right hand bat announces he is to retire from One day International cricket, OK his once awe inspiring form, some would say has been a bit off par lately but he will be sadly missed by his huge following of players and fans alike, on the limited overs circuit.

Cricket Memorabilia sourced from Tendulkar’s epic performances are always in demand especially signed cricket bats, score cards, tour paraphernalia and autographed presentations. There are a number of examples available from the recent India v England test series. Two other examples of particular interest to collectors would be his 200 not out at India v South Africa at Gwalior in Feb 2010 and the more recent 114 not out against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup at the Sher-e –Bangla National Stadium Dhaka (the memorable 100 – 100th).

Tenduldar holds the longest one day international cricket career 22 years + spanning 18/12/89 -18/3/12 during which he scored 18.426 runs including 49 centuries and 96 fifties, he also hold the record for the most World Cup runs, 2278.

He made his ODI debut (cap no 74) at 16 years of age playing for India v Pakistan on December 18th 1989 at the Municipal stadium, Gujranwala the same year he made his Test debut, Pakistan v India at Karachi.

Tendulkar’s recent performances against England in the test series have been disappointing and he has come under pressure to retire from several influential sources including former international captain Sourav Ganguly, his ODI batting average in 2012 dropped to 31.5 despite the tremendous innings against Bangladesh when he scored 114 in his centenary international match, this is a landmark event for cricket collectables.

During 2012,  38 years old Tendulkar became the first International cricketer to score  a hundred International centuries, the Mumbai batsman holds the all-time record for scoring the highest amount of centuries in both Test match cricket and one day Internationals.

Cricket memorabilia from Tendulkar’s historic  limited over matches will be available in the New Year.
