India v England ODI series

The Indian National Selection Committee has left  Virender Sehwag out of the  ODI matches  in favour of Cheteshwar Pujara, the five match series is due to start from January 11 at Rajkot.

Cricket Memorabilia will be at a premium for this series and we hope to attend a number of signings at Mohali on Wed 23/1/13.

Surprisingly Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma held onto their places and have been nominated for the first three ODIs at Rajkot, Kochi and Ranchi.

Virender has previously performed well in limited over matches clocking up 8273 runs including 15 centuries from 251 appearances.

India A team v England New Delhi

India “A” team defeated England at the New Delhi, Palam ground by 53 runs yesterday, the hosts made 224/4 leaving England on 175 after 36 overs, the tourists loss of five middle order wickets for only 30 runs did nothing to alleviate the situation.

In Alastair Cook’s absence England Captain Ian Bell put on a good show scoring 91 runs off 89 deliveries including eight 4s and two 6s, before being caught by Motwani off Sharma, whilst fellow opener Kevin Pietersen was out for 19 off 28 balls, caught by Mukund off a short delivery from Sreesanth.

A heavy mist disrupted the match reducing play to 39 overs.

Signed tour intineraries and dinner menus are available from the New Delhi match however  significance will come to the fore dependent on notable performances in the forthcoming ODIs.
