The Group A England v Sri Lanka was best forgotten and hopefully England can have more control of the remainder of the series.

Cricket Memorabilia is now available from the Kennington Oval contest with signed collectables from Joe Root and match winning scorer Sangakkara prevalent, however most fans seemed more interested in the off field activities of David Warner. Amongst interesting items is a signed cricket bat, cricket autographs and signed scorecards.

Stumper and Man of the match Sangakkara added to his 33 Test and 15 international centuries, with an unbeaten 134 runs not out, which no doubt inspired Sri Lanka to their seven-wicket win.

Umpire Aleem Dar’ (Pak) decision to change the ball at a time when the hosts were beginning to use some reverse swing in my opinion added to an easy victory for Sri Lanka. Had the ball not been deemed as “out of shape the normal ODI rule of two new balls per innings would have applied.

The new ODI rules are now in force and I like the introduction of the two new ball ruling, which used alternately give the bowlers 20 overs with the new ball however this is not really helping the spinner’s introduction early in the innings. Field restriction areas during and outside of Powerplay overs seem to be as confusing for the Captain and spectator as ever, to get it wrong within the 30 yard circle can prove costly.

Let’s hope England are back for form for the 11th match Group A against New Zealand at Cardiff on Sunday another opportunity for some excellent Kiwi Cricket Collectables.
